Description of Project

Intensive monsoon floods in Pakistan in the months of August-September 2011 caused major havoc in terms of loss of lives and serious socio-economic consequences. Threatening floods were expected this year too and some of the regions in Pakistan had already been raided by flood. Consequently, un-repaired infrastructure, housing and health system damages caused by the floods continued to pose a major threat to the health and wellbeing of the population. The estimated 14 million populations that were directly or indirectly affected by the floods continued to face health consequences, compounded by inadequate access to health services.
