Description of Project
United Nations (International) Children's Fund (UNICEF) provided material for all centers to the National and Local Non-governmental Organizations to establish Temporary Learning Centers in the severely flood hit districts of Sindh, Province where education system had been derailed by the recent monsoon floods. In that connection UNICEF started work with the Implementing Partner Organizations who gave opportunities to other local organizations actively working in those affected areas. SPO was given 200 TLCs for Shaheed Benazirabad and 50 TLCs for Tando Allahyar up to the period of three months from 22nd September to 22nd December 2011. MDF as partner organization worked with SPO opened 10 TLCs in different places of Tando Allahyar, Jhando Mari and Chambar Talukas where 549 children of flood affected communities received education in a friendly environment.
