Description of Project

The overall objective of the project is to educate 12,100 female learners 3,700 in district Sujawal, 2,800 in Tando Muhammad Khan, 2,600 in Tando Allah Yar and 3,000 in Matiari districts of Sindh, Province of Pakistan. The duration of course will be eight (08) months of learning period. The learning course is on 3Rs (read, write and arithmetic) utilizing the Package-A developed by JICA. The project will establish 484 Adult Literacy and Numeracy Centers ((ALNs) 148 in Sujawal, 112 in Tando Muhammad Khan, 104 in Tando Allahyar and 120 in Matiari districts of Sindh Province of Pakistan. Following are the list of activity that will be carried out during implementation phase of the project.

Services Provided

Sign the contract agreement with the client (contracting authority) .
Bring the appropriate staff on board to implement the project activities.
Orient the project staff for 3-day on the proposed project, objectives, methodology, monitoring, coordination and reporting.
Convene inception meeting with the National Rural Support Programme (NRSP) management team.
Convene meeting with the Government of Sindh Supported Non-Formal and Literacy Programme (SEF and Directorate of Non-Formal Education).
Convene meeting with Community Institutions (LSO/VOs/COs).
Identify and select a suitable place for each center.
Identify learning facilitators (Teachers) for all ALCs.
Develop and submit the Inception Report.
Identify, select and establish a suitable place for the Center.
Form an education committee comprises of local leaders from LSO/VOs/COs in the selected village.
Establish each center and provide required facilities in each ALC.
Ensure display prominently banners/ sign boards.
Hire learning facilitators (teachers) preferably local/nearby in each village and sub-village.
Enhance the capacity of the learning facilitators (teachers) employed for the project .
Ensure at least 95% attendance of the learning facilitators (teachers) and at least 80% attendance of the learners.
Award certificates to the learners.
Organize 7-Days Refresher Training of Learners on Community Management Skills Training (CMST).
Develop a user-friendly, interactive, web-based computerized Project Monitoring Information System (PMIS).
Conduct monitoring of the activities on regular basis.
Conduct assessment of learners on regular basis.
Coordinate effectively with the relevant stakeholders.
Inception Report.
Monthly Progress Report (Physical & Financial).
Quarterly Progress Report (Physical & Financial).
Project completion report.
