Description of Project

The Women Development Department Government of Sindh intends to map the available resources (funding to various organizations available from different organizations and donors) for gender mainstreaming and women development and identify potential projects and sources. It is also imperative to mention that the civil society organizations, NGOs, CBOs, and cooperative societies, Community Citizen Boards (CCBs) are available all over the province to support women development activities. There are some regions/ areas/ and fields being undertaken by various organizations (small, medium and large) registered under various laws of land like Social Welfare etc. It is also mentioned that the federal government organizations like the Ministry of Women Development etc.

Study Objective

  • Establish a database of the women organizations registered with the legal framework governing NGOs various laws i.e :
  • Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies Registration and Control Ordinance 1961

  • The Societies Registration Act, 1860
  • The Cooperative Societies Act, 1925
  • The Companies Ordinance, 1984 (Section 42) and
  • The Trust Act, 1882.

Identify various available resources / projects with international donor agencies, CBOs, NGOs, Cooperative Societies at local and provincial level who are supportive for the development women in the province; and Suggest / recommend the effective coordination among various organizations and agencies for the betterment of the women in the province.

Scope of the Study

Using various secondary data sets with the government, national and international organizations/ agencies, NGOs, establish the list of the women organizations working in various districts / areas for the development of women. Closely interact through personal interviews with relevant international / national organizations to get their perceptions for effective coordination of various organizations in order to develop women in the province.

Data Entry, Analysis and interpretation of various tables
Hard and soft copy of all survey instruments to client

Draft final report
